Commentary: November 06 Playlist Update (it's a big'n)

There have been some major cuts to the Halo 2 LIVE Matchmaking Playlist lineup. There has been the removal of the novelty playlists Team SWAT, Multi-Team, Team Actionsack, and Team Carnage, while there is the addition of more novelty gametypes to Team Training and Team Skirmish.

I will miss these playlists... SWAT's popularity, Multi-Team's function of having two friends over, Actionsack's cool-down (take somewhat of a break somehow while still playing Halo 2), and Team Carnage's spontaneously filling in the gap between 4 and 8 players.

Though I will miss these playlists, I am looking forward to the benefits of finding a match quicker, and something I inadvertantly noticed was that there were more players available for Custom games, though it might have just been me.

In the end, I am happy with the update. There are benefits and you can still play whatever games you want in Customs. When the Rumble Hardcore playlist was removed, I noticed a lot of MLG or faux MLG Free For Alls going on in Customs, perhaps we will see a similar movement here. Halo 2 is still Halo 2, and I am optimistic about this change!

See ya online!
